Bridging Research and Practice for Net-Zero University Campuses – visit by ETH Zürich Facility Management Department
Project description
Collaboration between research and practice is crucial for achieving net-zero transitions and university campuses must become frontrunners in this transformation. As a follow-up to our visit to ETH Sustainability Office in May 2025, kindly hosted by Dr. Claudia Zingerli, we are happy to welcome our colleagues from the ETH Zurich Facility Management Department between 20 and 21 January 2026. Their work brings essential practice-based expertise, bridging strategic research and implementation. We look forward to continuing this dialogue and advancing research–practice partnerships that place community collaboration at the core of energy transitions on campuses and beyond. We thank IDEA League and the International Office RWTH Aachen University for supporting our research visit to ETH Zürich and enabling this collaboration. with contributions from our colleagues Matthias Tushschmid (ETH – Energy, Sustainability and Consulting), Dominik Stollenwerk and Begüm Guse (RWTH-Facility Management and Sustainability), Prof. Christoph van Treeck (RWTH – Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building), Prof Christa Reicher (RWTH – Institute of Urban Design and European Urbanism), Sebastian Möller (Campus Gmbh).
