CCLab is a transdisciplinary research and design platform advancing equitable net-zero transitions through spatial innovation and community-centred design. The lab positions public space as critical social infrastructure and a site of lived experience and collective transformation, working across university campuses and urban neighbourhoods as experimental settings for change. By integrating spatial research, participatory design, and digital innovation, CCLab develops governance and design strategies that advance spatial justice and enable inclusive net-zero transitions.
CCLab was founded and is directed by Dr. Ceren Sezer at RWTH Aachen University. Since 2024, the lab has been supported by a €1M research grant under Germany’s Excellence Strategy (Exzellenzstrategie), funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
