Stories that matter: Story telling workshop in Hoensbroek

Stories that matter. Today CCLab spent a wonderful day in Hoensbroek, city of Heerlen, where long-time residents welcomed us and shared memories of their towns from childhood adventures and youthful moments to ideas and wishes for the future. Our new 11 enthusiastic young “researchers” from Broeklandcollege played a key role: listening carefully, asking interesting questions, and helping collect these stories that connect past and future.

The CCLab explores how universities can act as social infrastructures bringing together residents, schools, public administration and researchers to co-create knowledge, facilitate intergenerational exchange, and strengthen community ties for just and sustainable transformation. A heartfelt thank you to the members of Heemkundevereniging Hoensbroek, to Har Daemen, to the bestuur (board), and to the students and teachers of Broeklandcollege, as well as all the participants who opened their doors and their hearts to us. More stories to follow.
