The CCLab at ETH Zurich: Exploring Campus Spaces for Social Transitions

During this visit, they are conducting a short study to explore how the ETH Zurich campus,  through its public spaces, including both buildings and outdoor areas, can actively promote social transitions (e.g., values, behaviours) that support the energy transition.

The project approaches the energy transition as a spatial and social challenge not only a technical one.

The CCLab extends its sincere thanks to Claudia Zingerli, Director of the ETH Zurich Office of Sustainability, and her team for their warm welcome, for openly sharing their work, and for creating space for learning and exchange.

The team was also glad to take part in Net Zero Day on May 9 — now in its second year at ETH — which brought together students, staff, and external guests to reflect on the university’s path toward climate neutrality.

Additionally, they had the pleasure of meeting Matthias Tuchschmid and his colleagues from ETH Energy, Sustainability & Consulting, who are doing impressive work to help ETH operate as a 100% renewable energy campus.

This research visit is made possible thanks to the support of RWTH Aachen University’s IDEA League Outgoing Research Grant and the RWTH International Office.
