The Royal Geographical Society (RGS) Annual Congress
The Sustainable Campus
27-30 August 2024

The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Annual Congress provided a vibrant platform for sharing insights on community collaboration practices and fostering a socially inclusive transition toward carbon-neutral societies. The event highlighted how professionals from diverse fields—architects, artists, geographers, and engineers—share common interests in their work, particularly in creating sustainable and inclusive urban environments.
In the Mapping and Sharing Knowledge on Social Infrastructures panel, Ceren Sezer presented how university campuses can serve as vital social infrastructure that fosters a climate-conscious culture through creative collaboration and public engagement. This aligns with the vision of integrating sustainability and community-building in educational spaces.
The panel featured a dynamic range of contributions from experts in urban design, geography, and planning:
- José Chong
- Hendrik Tieben
